How Do I Apply for Further Funding?

Are you being funded by the DAAD with a study scholarship for a bachelor’s or master’s degree and your funding programme offers the possibility of further funding? Find out how to apply here.

Requirements

  • You have received a DAAD scholarship to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Germany.
  • The status of your initial funding or your extension is set to Funding.
  • Your funding programme takes part in a simplified procedure for extending the duration of your scholarship.

Application Procedure

Submitting an Application for Further Funding

  • To start the application, click on the arrowhead symbol ˃ to the left of Further Funding in the Navigation menu. This will expand the menu item Further Funding.
  • Once the menu item is expanded, you will see the Confirmation of academic progress.

Please note:

The Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) shows different menu items.

You have to download the Annual Progress Report instead of the Confirmation of academic progress. Later, the edited Annual Progress Report has to be uploaded in PDF format under Further Funding – Annual Progress Report.

  • To download the form, click on the menu item Confirmation of academic progress.
  • A new page will open where you can download the form and then upload it once it has been filled in.
  • To start the download, click on the blue download link Download form Confirmation of academic progress.

  • On the second page of the form, you will find instructions on how to proceed with your application and which additional files to submit alongside the Confirmation of academic progress.
  • After you have downloaded, filled in and saved the application form as a PDF file, you can upload the document in two different ways.
  • You can upload the document via the Upload button.

  • Or you can upload the document by dragging it from your computer and dropping it into the Upload field.

Important:

Your document must be uploaded in PDF format in order to be processed in our system. Most current office packages offer the function to save files in PDF format. Additionally, there is a wide range of free software that offers this function.

Please make sure the PDF files you upload are not encrypted and do not have any commenting restrictions. Such files cannot be processed in our system and we would have to ask for the document to be resubmitted.

It is also advisable to check documents you have already received in PDF format.

  • Please make sure to give the document a self-explanatory name so that it will be recognisable for our internal proceedings.
  • After you have uploaded the document, you will receive a corresponding notification.

  • You will now see the uploaded document(s) displayed in a list. If you want to remove a document from the list, click please on the  symbol to the right of the uploaded document.
  • Click on the Send documents button to submit the application for Confirmation of academic progress.

  • You will now receive a notification confirming the successful submission of the document.

  • A few minutes later, you will receive an email informing you that there is a new message in your portal account. This message is a further confirmation that your document has been submitted successfully. A copy of the application document(s) is attached on the right-hand side of this message.

To open the message, navigate to the Application and Funding Overview.

  • To read the message, select the relevant funding programme or extension.
  • The selected programme or extension will be displayed in blue text with a blue square on the left-hand side.
  • The messages are listed below the Information on your applications and funding under Messages regarding application / funding.

  • To read the message, click on the arrowhead symbol ˃ to the left of the Subject.
  • Your uploaded document will be attached on the right-hand side of the message.
